Recommendations

Can't have enough. Any will do, though these are long and the box is reusable for parts.

Draw String

Kevlar kite string works in place of nearly all drawstrings. I recommend 200lb because 1.1mm is good for most machnies though a few ultras need thinner.

Evaporust

I've been playing with alternatives, but the original is a great choice.

Gun Oil

Any gun/sewing machine oil works. I like that this comes with a pin oiler too.

Nitrile Gloves

Overkill for ink, but important for chemicals

Penetrating Oil

I actually use PB Blaster, but non-spray is a must. Use with a pin or dropper oiler.

Felt2

1mm Felt

Great for replacing soundproofing, especially in portables. Affix with contact cement

2mm Felt

Great for replacing soundproofing on standards and for typebar rests. Sometimes several layers. Affix with contact cement.

Ribbon Grommets2

2mm Grommets

For bulk ribbon when needed. Actually small enough!

2mm Ribbon Grommet Tool

For setting 2mm grommets. Not the most sturdy tool, but it works.

3-Way Buffer

I've been using the wet sandpaper more lately, but this is still convenient sometimes

Nail Files

I don't use these as often as wet sanding anymore, but they can really be great for heavily rusted surfaces.

Wet Sandpaper

Wet sanding it great for rusty or otherwise marred metal. I use it all the time

Brass Brush

Any brass brush will do, but it really has to be brass (softer metal)

Chapman Typewriter Screwdiver Set

All the right screwdriver bits. Only complaint is that the driver is too big for some tight areas.

Dental Pick

Most any dental pick will do, used to clean out the inside of letters on slugs

Keyring Pliers

Very pricey but when you need them nothing else will do. Nice that there is new stock available!

Mini Hollow-Ground Screwdriver Set

For when the Champan set can't fit in the tight space, though these sometimes can't get enough torque.

Mini Wrench Set

Metric and SAE wrenches, small enough and thin enough for most jobs
